51st Festival of the Arts for Girl Scouts Held on November 11
Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana hosted the 51st annual Festival of the Arts on Saturday, November 11 at Jefferson Community & Technical College. The Festival featured 65 programs at various locations in Louisville and Southern Indiana. The fun event engaged Girl Scouts in grades kindergarten through 12th with an exploration of arts including dance, drama, visual arts, and more. The workshops provided Girl Scouts with hands-on experiences to discover their sense of creativity.
2,230 festival attendees participated in this day-long celebration of the arts. The Festival is the largest and longest-running program for Girl Scouts in the region.
Some highlights of the day’s programs included theatrical stage combat with Louisville Shakespeare, percussion with Louisville Drumline Academy, ballet basics with the Louisville Ballet, and printing on textiles with artist Karen Weeks.
Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana is grateful to the Caesars Foundation for their generous sponsorship. Their financial support helps make this impactful event possible for all Girl Scouts that want to participate.
