Whether you’re discovering the wildlife in your own backyard, swimming in a lake for the first time at summer camp or being a citizen scientist and observing bees in your neighborhood park, every outdoor adventure grows your “I’ve got this” attitude. And once you unlock that confidence, you’ll aim as high as the stars you see outside your cabin window.
The Joyce Seymour Leadership Fund is an endowment named in honor of Joyce Seymour, Camp Shantituck staff alumna, Camp Director 1966-68, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, and former GSK board member. “Giving back to our girls, that is what we are all about. Giving our girls outdoor opportunities to benefit their growing up years—that each of us had—will be a legacy for all of us.” The Joyce Seymour Leadership Fund was established to ensure the same outdoor opportunities would be available for future generations of girls through Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana.
The Joyce Seymour Leadership Fund is dedicated to providing leadership opportunities for girls gained through the outdoor experience. Opportunities supported by the fund include GSK Counselor Training Program, GSK Camp, GSUSA Destinations and troop and/or GSK outdoor adventures.
New for this year: all applications for Leadership Experiences must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation. This letter should not come from a family member.
Canoeing solo across a lake. Counting stars in the night sky.
These are just a few of the experiences awaiting Girl Scouts who are ready to explore the great outdoors. Camp and outdoor experiences can be enjoyed during summer camp, day camp, or year-round.
