It’s a big world, and what better way to experience it than on a global scale? Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), which includes 10 million girls in 150 countries. As a Girl Scout, she’ll make a real difference and find her place in the world, whether she decides to participate in local activities with worldwide impact through a Girl Scout Journey, makes a difference by earning her Global Action Award, or travels the globe through a Girl Scout Destination or trip.

On February 22, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides across 150 countries celebrate World Thinking Day—that’s one big celebration! Observed by 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts worldwide, World Thinking Day has a different theme each year. In 2024, the theme is "Our World, Our Thriving Future: The Environment and Global Poverty". You will explore how these issues are even more challenging for girls and women in your communities and around the world. Think about the issues that contribute to the problems and about the little things you can do to make a big difference!

Global Action Days Toolkit
There are many other ways for girls to engage with the global sisterhood throughout their Girl Scout experience. This toolkit—for learning about or taking part in nine global action days—is a resource for volunteers and parents to help girls connect to our global Movement and to the issues that affect girls around the world.

World Centers offer Girl Scouts and Girl Guides comfortable, safe places to stay for short periods or longer term, including during seminars, training sessions, or international events. Members and their families are encouraged to visit the centers and connect with visitors from other countries.
