Trauma-informed care involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma. Our Girl Scouts look to us to provide safe spaces where they can build their confidence and learn coping skills to deal with the challenges and stressors of an ever-changing, unjust, scary world. This training will give you the tools to understand the profound impact of the trauma on their ability to function, and act proactively and responsibly on their behalf to address challenges stemming from the root causes of trauma such as: abuse, neglect, life threatening events, systemic racism, mental health, economic instability, and endless other unresolved issues impacting the overall health and wellness of our youth."

This training is designed to give participants skills on how to be both trauma aware and trauma informed. Participants will learn to recognize signs of trauma and navigate the responses. By being aware of what Girl Scouts may have experienced and what challenges may arise, you can help better respond to their needs and react safely and appropriately.
