Orienteering is a family of sports that requires navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain, and normally moving at speed. Participants are given a topographical map, usually a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find control points.

What to bring:  compass (if you have one), comfortable closed toed shoes, snack or lunch, water or reusable water bottle.  As always, dress for the weather.

Who should attend:  anyone 10 and older who wants to learn new or brush up on existing skills.  There will be help and training for those new to orienteering.

Course Description:  3 hour Score – O can be done solo or in teams.  Please no teams larger than 4 people with the exception of Girl Scout troops.  There will be one finger stick (not what the Dr uses) issued per team. You must finish in three hours.  Each minute you are late you lose one point.

Please email if you are bringing a group of 3 or more because I need this to produce maps.  There is a group registration sheet posted.  Please have this completed when you arrive to speed up registration.
