Did you know that Kentuckians passed around Daniel Boone’s skull in the Old State Capitol building 25 years after he was first buried or that people in the Victorian era made jewelry out of the hair from dearly departed friends and family members? In this Halloween themed overnight, participants will discover the spooky stories and cursed objects that haunt the halls of the Old State Capitol building, create art inspired by weird and wild artifacts in the museum, explore historic Halloween traditions, and dive into the art of suspenseful storytelling. At this overnight, Kentucky will truly live up to its “Kreepy? name!

For the overnight portion of this program, participants will sleep inside of our “Kentucky Journey? museum. Cozy up to a Model T, sleep tight in a coal mine, rest your head on a flat boat or have sweet (and possibly scary) dreams in any of our other historic locations inside the exhibit!

Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors will earn a fun patch at the completion of the overnight. Cost of the program includes patches, snacks, breakfast, and free admission to all of the Kentucky Historical Society’s sites on the Friday and Saturday of the overnight, so stop by early or stay late to make the most out of your visit! Please see our website,, for more details about our sites and hours. Direct questions about program content to Julie Sawnor at or (502) 564-1792.

Adults are required to maintain ratios.
