GEMS: Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science Event

GEMS_2017_internal_page_header

Even though women make up nearly half of the American workforce, they hold barely a quarter of the jobs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. SkyTeach at WKU, Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, and Kentucky Science Center are working to change these statistics! This October, join us at Western Kentucky University’s campus Saturday, October 21 for a full day of sessions designed to engage girls in STEM content through hands-on experiences. Parents, guardians, and leaders learn how to engage girls in STEM and receive great resources to continue STEM learning after the program ends. This program is NOT restricted to Girl Scouts, but sessions will include the completion of steps in many badges and journeys.
