This easy to use online training is dedicated to raising awareness and prevention of the mistreatment of the vulnerable.  This is accomplished by training young people and adults about abuse, neglect, predators, bullying, boundaries, respect, and the perils of cyberspace.  This course is self-paced and takes between 45-90 minutes.

Getting Started – Complete before family meeting.

Getting Started provides new leaders the tools needed to successfully hold their first family meeting, register their troop, organize the troop committee, and hold regular troop meetings.  It has everything you need to get the troop year started and going strong!

Getting Started

Troop Pathway Orientation – Complete within 3 months.

Troop Pathway Orientation will give new leaders the tools needed to successfully begin a Girl Scout troop.  Subjects covered in this course include Girl Scout policies, procedures, safety and risk management requirements, and where and how to find support from Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana and Girl Scouts of the USA.  Important forms and information will be available, in addition to a bit of “how to” information to set you on the path to a thriving troop year.  All troop leaders and assistant leaders are required to take Troop Pathway Orientation within 3 months of starting the troop.  The troop is only allowed to hold regular meetings until this course is completed.  This can be completed in a face-to-face training or through two different online modules.

Staying Safe

Learn the GSUSA and council safety requirements and policies.  Upon completion troops will be able to go on day trips.

Troop Finances

Learn about troop finances:  bank account guidelines, record keeping, and money-earning.  Upon completion, troops will be able to open a checking account and participate in money-earning activities.

Girl Scouting 101 – Complete within 6 months.

This easy to use online orientation introduces new volunteers to Girl Scouts’ inspiring national leadership experience – from Journey resources and The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting, to the cookie sale program, safety guidelines, and much more.  GS101 is a required training for all Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana volunteers and requires about 45-50 minutes to complete.  All volunteers are required to complete it within 6 months of registration.

Camp In A

Camp In A will help adults prepare girls for day activities in the out of doors and is available as a home study or as a face-to-face class. You may go to camp for the day after completing this part.
