Stand Beside Her
National Stand Beside Her Week
October 29–November 3, 2017
We can all Stand Beside Her!
Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana will celebrate Stand Beside Her the week of October 29-November 3, 2017. SBH is focused on creating more positive, encouraging and supportive experiences for girls and women. This marks the second year GSK has celebrated this exciting campaign.
To build on the success of last year’s program, GSK will introduce a Take Action component to the campaign by sponsoring a council wide collection drive for The Healing Place of Kentucky’s Women’s campus. A portion of the donations may also be distributed to recovery centers that serve women throughout GSK’s service area. The drive reflects Girl Scouts’ commitment to making the world a better place and will help draw attention to the thousands of women and families who are impacted by addiction.
Here’s What You Need to Do!
The Take Action project will occur October 1–November 1. GSK and its partners will hold a collection drive that will benefit The Healing Place and other centers serving women who are in recovery. Details for the project are as follows:
- Donations will be collected by GSK Troops and community volunteers October 1-November 1.
- Items being collected include full sized toothbrushes; deodorant; liquid and bar soap; and socks. Other items that are being collected include notepads, pens, highlighters and folders.
- Donations may be dropped off your local PLC any time during the project period.
