Summer Resident Camp
Resident Camp is open to any girl entering first grade through twelfth grade. You don't need any camping experience to come to camp, and you don't have to come with a friend. There will be plenty of new friends and opportunities to learn and grow while you’re at camp! Camp sessions are scheduled for three to twelve days and campers sleep over at camp for the duration of their camp session. All sessions will let you experience things like swimming, boating, arts & crafts, playing games, eating meals in the lodge, cooking out, singing camp songs, acting in skits at campfires, learning camping and life skills, and exploring camp. However, each session also has a special focus designed for different interest and levels of experience. We also offer leadership / teen mentoring opportunities in our Program Aide (PA), Counselor-in-Training I (CIT I) and Counselor-in-Training II (CIT II) sessions.
Summer resident camp is held at two of our camping properties.
- Camp Pennyroyal, a beautiful wooded camp, 15 miles south of Owensboro, KY featuring hiking trails and a peaceful eight-acre lake for swimming, canoeing, and Funyaking (sit on top kayaks)
- Camp Bear Creek, houses our summer resident camp Bear Creek Aquatic Camp. It is located on a bay on scenic Kentucky Lake about 45 minutes south of Paducah, KY, features 200 acres of waterfront property and two miles of shoreline that create the perfect setting for Kentucky's only Girl Scout aquatic camp.
We are currently planning our Summer 2015 Sessions at both Camp Bear Creek and Camp Pennyroyal. Check back soon.
