A new tradition begins.
For more than 100 years, Girl Scouts has been building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. On June 7, 2014, Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana will celebrate the start of a new tradition with the Young Women of Distinction awards celebration in Louisville, Kentucky.
This event highlights the impact of Girl Scouting on today’s young women and further celebrates more than a century’s worth of successful leadership development through the Girl Scout movement as one recent Girl Scout Gold Award recipient is selected as our 2014 Young Woman of Distinction, and one young alumna is selected as our 2014 Distinguished Young Alumna.
The Young Woman of Distinction and Distinguished Young Alumna awards recognize young women who have demonstrated courage, confidence, and character through their Gold Award project, professional work, volunteer efforts, or other notable accomplishments that make her a role model for the next generation of Girl Scouts.
