Saturday Afternoon at the Museum
Date & Time
1:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
Sponsored by: KY Derby Museum
Who should attend: Girl Scout Brownies and Daisies.
We’ll begin our afternoon with a rousing program in the William Ray Gallery, learning about famous Derby horses and the care that goes into each. Then we’ll let the scouts use their imaginations to decorate their own racing plate (horseshoe). Then it’s upstairs to tour the two floors of exhibits and trying to find all the answers on a scavenger hunt. They will be watch the museum’s award winning 360 movie “The Greatest Race”, before concluding their afternoon with a tour of Churchill Downs and the museum’s stable, featuring a retired racehorse and miniature horse. These activities will satisfy the requirements for the Derby Museum’s fun patch, which will be awarded after the tour.
Cost: $5.00 per scout. One adult free for every scout, all others regular museum admission.
