Who should attend: adult volunteers and Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts working on VIT.
Camp Out assists in building the skills needed to prepare girls for troop camping, including camping in tents and other shelters in established campsites. Participants will receive hands on experience with fire building, tent pitching and usage, tool craft, knots, care of aluminum pots, use and care of ironware, foil cooking, and use of coolers for storage of perishable food items. Although participants do not plan the food for their training, during the training all participants complete a meal planning exercise and food preparation. Camp Out is valid for 5 years and authorizes registered Girl Scout adults to take troops/groups camping in tents at Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana camps and developed tent areas. Overnight camping in tents is optional during this training class. Prerequisites: Camp In A & B. What to bring: participants will receive a letter with information prior to the training.
