Bridging to Juniors
Date & Time
5/7/2013
6 pm - 9 pm
Sponsored by: Clusters 3 and 4
Who should attend: adult volunteers and Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts working on VIT.
The Girl Scout Bridging to Juniors Grade Level class will help prepare leaders to lead a bridging ceremony for their current troops to move up to the next level. Just as your girls will be transitioning into the next grade level, this course will help you transition as a leader as well. This course will lead participants through the age appropriate national program portfolio including but not limited to the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting, Journeys and resources, girl awards and council programs. A comprehensive approach to managing a Girl Scout Troop/Group including what it means to have “girl-led programming” at the new age level, insight to Girl Scouting traditions including the girl uniform, discussion about age appropriate activities and learning will all be a part of this class experience. This is a great opportunity for leaders to get the training they need early to be ready to lead a troop next fall. New leaders will receive a copy of the adult guide and the girl book for the grade level appropriate Journey upon the completion of this session (one per troop). Prerequisites: GS 101 and Troop Pathway Orientation.
Registration deadline - April 30, 2013.
