Who should attend: adult volunteers and Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts working on VIT.
Camp In A will teach the skills needed to prepare girls for day activities that take place outdoors. Topics covered will include basic outdoor programming for day trips as well as some information for overnights in a winterized building in a camp or outdoor setting. Participants will gain knowledge in using Volunteer Essentials, GSUSA’s Safety Activity Checkpoints, as well as guidelines and procedures for troop camping. An introduction to the following concepts will be provided as well: girl readiness, progression, planning, properties, hiking, and emergencies. Camp In A is valid for 5 years and authorizes registered Girl Scout adults to take groups/troops on outdoor day activities. What to bring: Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints.
