Celebrate the Girl Scout 100th birthday by bringing joy to children living in shelters across our communities. Some children who stay in shelters will celebrate their birthday there. As a way to provide a special celebration, we are creating Birthday Boxes to give these children a simple birthday party. Birthday Boxes can be dropped off at any Service Center office from February 1st thru March 11th. Boxes will be provided to local agencies on March 12th as part of our 100th birthday celebration.

How to make a Birthday Box

•Locate a shoe box in good condition
•Wrap the shoe box lid and the actual box separately for easy opening.
•Use bright colorful birthday themed wrapping paper.
•Include a box of cake mix and can of icing
•Birthday Candles
•Balloons
•A blank birthday card so the family can sign it
•Party Favors
•A small coloring book & Crayons or similar small gift item(s)
•Small toiletries (like, hand-sanitizer, soap, perfume samples, toothbrush & toothpaste)
•Any other celebration items your girls might like to include
•Tie a ribbon or string around the box to make sure the lid stays in place
•Place a tag on the outside of the box noting whether it is for a boy or girl
•Turn the box in to your service center office

Please Note

A few of the local shelters we will provide boxes to, do not have a kitchen space that families can use to bake a cake. Please consider donating a Birthday Box containing a box or two of Girl Scout cookies in place of the cake mix. Please attach a note to the box stating it contains cookies.
