A set of low-ropes elements that have been set-up to present challenges to participants. Adventure Playgrounds are directed toward younger girls. No training is required to use the an adventure playground, however adult supervision required.

Kentuckiana maintains two Adirondack style backpack shelters at Camp Stem. They are open shelters, with no electricity or water Each has room for 8 hikers. . They are excellent training sites for those planning to hike the Appalachian trail in the near future.
Birdwatching can be done from our specially designed Bird-Blind, which features 1 way mirror. This enables girls to get up close and personal with the birds, without the birds being spooked away.

Disc golf is a disc game in which individual players throw a flying disc into a basket or at a target. A three hole disc golf course is located at Houchens Program Center. All equipment is kept on the site. Contact the Ranger to use the course and equipment.
Camps Whippoorwill, Stem and Bear Creek have abundant fossils. While fossil hunting, Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana observe "Leave No Trace" principles. Please, leave only footprints and take only memories and photographs.

Girl Scouts have outdoor gathering places at each of their camps. They are varied in size and the amount of development. Each camp, except for Camp Barren Ridge has at least one gathering site where 50 or more campers can gather, sing songs, play games and do skits. Camps Whippoorwill, Shantituck and Bear Creek also boast outdoor stages. These areas do not require reservations, but check with the Site Manager/ Ranger upon your arrival in case another group is also hoping to use the area.

Platform Tent units are found throughout the Kentuckiana Council between the dates of April 15 and October 15. . Each Unit has a minimum of 4 platform tents, each of which sleeps 4, a latrine, a shelter and a fire circle. "Camp Out" is required to be eligible to reserve platform tent units.
